Turkey's Kurdish Community celebrated NewRuz (Spring Festival) near Topkapi's walls in the ancient part of Istanbul, Turkey, on Saturday, March 21, 2009. Kurdish youth at the end of the celebration jumped over a big fire to celebrate. Youths were detained for carrying posters of Abdullah Ocalan, the imprisoned leader of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK). The PKK is listed as a terrorist group in Turkey, the US and Europe.
